Florida Board of Podiatric Medicine Member Recruitment
The Governor’s Appointments Office is currently accepting applications for appointments to the Florida Board of Podiatric Medicine. The Board was established to ensure that every Podiatric Physician practicing in Florida meets minimum requirements for safe practice. The Board is responsible for licensing, monitoring, disciplining, and educating Podiatric Physicians, Certified Podiatric X-ray Assistants, Podiatric Residents, and Podiatric Residency Programs, and when appropriate, rehabilitating licensees to ensure competency and safety to practice in Florida.
The Florida Board of Podiatric Medicine plays a leading role in the ever-changing health care environment through dialogue with the public, the legislature, academia, and the community. The Board consists of seven members to be appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate. Five members of the board must be licensed podiatric physicians who are residents of the state and who have been licensed podiatric physicians engaged in the practice of podiatric medicine for at least 4 years. The remaining two members must be residents of the state who are not, and have never been, licensed as podiatric physicians or members of any closely related profession. At least one member of the board must be 60 years of age or older. Applications for all appointments are being accepted for consideration.
